The e-commerce consortium TowerByte Leipzig e.G. was founded in 2009 in Leipzig, a city famous for its traditions in commerce, trade fairs and media. Its initial goal was to establish a center for modern distribution in the 21st century. The consortium model TowerByte e.G., which has been successful in Jena as well as the Free State of Thuringia since 2005, served as the model for its creation.

Through the current eight member firms, the consortium covers the service spectrum throughout the added value chain in online sales. That way, complete shop solutions can be offered from a single source, which guarantees online traders a minimum of their own administrative and marketing expenses and always offers professional shop management thanks to the expertise of the e-commerce experts in the network.
